he saw the police and tried to escape, but was arrested: he had 10 grams of hashish with him.

Yesterday, a twenty-eight-year-old Algerian resident at the Monastir reception center was handcuffed. His troubles began when officers arrived at Piazza del Carmine for a checkpoint in the red zone.

The officers' attention was drawn by the young man's wary behavior, and he immediately attempted to flee into the surrounding streets. As he fled, the man threw a small package to the ground, a gesture that didn't go unnoticed by the Carabinieri. The package was immediately recovered and found to contain approximately ten grams of hashish.

The 28-year-old was immediately arrested and subjected to a more thorough personal search. The search revealed approximately €40 in his pockets, divided into small bills, believed to be the likely proceeds of drug dealing.
