With the testimony of Colonel Andrea Berti , commander of the Cagliari RIS, the debate in the Assize Court of the trial against Claudio Gulisano , 44 years old, accused of the murder of his parents , his father Luigi, 79 years old, and his mother Marisa Dessì, 82, killed on 4 December 2024 in their apartment in via Ghibli , in the Sole district of Cagliari, got underway this morning.
The officer is illustrating the long and complex report that the Carabinieri of the Scientific Investigations Unit delivered to the prosecutor Rossana Allieri after a series of inspections and investigations carried out in the couple's apartment.
Colonel Berti confirmed that the officers initially searched for mushrooms, which they found in the house but deemed edible by the local health authority (ASL). Initially, based in part on the son's account, they suspected mushroom food poisoning. RIS Marshal Claudio Oliviero, who examined the CCTV footage from the Via Ghibli area, will testify immediately afterward.
The defendant appeared in court escorted by the prison police, accompanied by his lawyer Luigi Sanna, together with his collaborators Maria Grazia Melis and the lawyer Alessio Dessì.
According to the prosecutor's reconstruction, supported by prosecutor Allieri, Gulisano is solely responsible for the crime, which was committed for financial reasons . The defendant, according to the prosecution, first suffocated his mother with the scarf she was wearing around her neck, then waited several hours for his father to return, who had gone out for his usual morning walk. At that point, he also killed him through so-called "soft asphyxiation," pressing his face against the armrest of a chair or using a pillow. The forty-four-year-old is also charged with computer fraud: he allegedly withdrew €20,000 from his parents' accounts using their online banking platform. His brother and most of the couple's family have joined the case as civil plaintiffs; their interests are being represented by lawyer Gianluca Aste.
