There were moments of fear yesterday afternoon on Via Azuni, in the heart of Cagliari's historic center. Around 4:30 PM, debris began falling from the facade of a building, directly across from the Church of San Michele. Fortunately, despite the early hour, no one was under the structure: no injuries were reported, and no parked cars were damaged.

Local police officers and firefighters responded promptly to the scene and began operations to secure and clear the area. Debris falling from the building's façade, not the balcony, affected the sidewalk and part of the road, requiring a temporary fence to close off the area to allow for safety work.

The incident has brought to light the poor state of preservation of some buildings in Cagliari's historic center, which now have dilapidated facades.
