A malfunction with the CT machine at the Microcythemic Unit forced several patients to return home yesterday without being able to undergo their scheduled tests. This represents a particularly difficult service for those awaiting the necessary tests to continue their treatment.

The hospital assures that the problem has already been addressed and that the machine should be back up and running by the end of the week. "We have notified all users," Arnas Brotzu said. The commitment is to make up the missed appointments starting next week: " We will take care of them all and will also work in the evenings to make up for lost time ."

This latest episode, however, highlights the difficulties associated with diagnostic equipment in Cagliari's hospitals. Just a few months ago, a problem also affected the PET-CT imaging system at the Businco Hospital , resulting in nuclear medicine exams being halted for weeks. The incident sparked protests from patients, concerned about the impact on their treatment plans. At the time, Arnas Brotzu explained that the reporting system was being replaced, promising that the problem would be resolved within a week.
