Children astronauts for a day, in Cagliari , thanks to the "Italia Brilla - Constellation 2022" project, which makes a stop in the island's capital to conclude the tour sponsored by the Italian Space Agency (ASI).
The initiative is part of the joint educational program of ESA - European Space Agency and ASI, promoted on the occasion of Samantha Cristoforetti's Minerva mission.
Children from difficult socio-economic backgrounds will be involved, to encourage them to approach the study of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
The Cagliari appointment will be held at Mu.Be, the district center of Mulinu Becciu, a civic space for social and cultural activities: between 5 and 10 pm approximately 40 children are expected to participate.
Two practical workshops are scheduled : the first, "Astrokids - Astronauts for a day", will bring the little ones closer to the selection process to become astronauts and to life on the International Space Station.
The second will be dedicated to the world of telecommunications, starting from the evolution of communications to arrive at the construction of a small satellite. At the end of the evening, the children will have the opportunity to observe the sky thanks to professional telescopes and the support of professional astronomers from INAF (National Institute of Astrophysics).
The project is promoted by the Il Cielo Itinerante association and by Iliad.
