A baby of just ten days old in danger of life was urgently transported by flight from Cagliari to Rome . An Air Force Falcon 50 was activated for the medical transport.
The little boy, coming from the AOU of Cagliari, needed urgent specialist care . So the Air Force aircraft took off from Ciampino, boarded the newborn at Elmas and took him to Ciampino airport. During the flight, which took place inside a thermal cradle, the little boy was accompanied by a family member and a medical team who assisted him constantly .
After landing after an hour of flight, the newborn was transferred by ambulance to Bambino Gesù in Rome .
The emergency flight was requested by the Prefecture of Cagliari and arranged by the Air Force. These are missions that require timely and meticulously organized action.
