A scary collision occurred on Viale Marconi in Cagliari between a car and a surface metro train.

After the alarm was raised, emergency medical services, firefighters, and local police responded to the scene. The driver of the Volkswagen, who was injured in the crash, was rescued. He is a 90-year-old man and was taken to the Santissima Trinità Hospital with a yellow code. According to initial investigations, he did not see the traffic light.

Medical personnel also assessed about ten people on board the metro , who fortunately suffered only minor injuries. The train also suffered minimal damage.

Following the accident , long queues formed in the area, causing traffic disruption, which the local police directed onto the embankment.
