A 36-year-old man from Cagliari was arrested on charges of aggravated theft inside a commercial establishment in the capital.
The man entered a bar in the Genneruxi neighborhood after breaking a window and once inside he took the cash (250 euros) and some bottles of alcohol. He then fled in his car.
Once the alarm was raised, the police officers of the Flying Squad of the Police Headquarters intervened on the scene and, after a brief search near Via Quirra, they identified the 36-year-old, of whom a witness had provided an identikit and details of the vehicle he was using.
The man - already known to the police - then tried to escape, but was stopped and searched, as was his car. In addition to the stolen goods, the officers found two screwdrivers and a glass-breaking hammer. At that point the handcuffs snapped on.
After the summary hearing, the investigating judge validated the arrest and ordered house arrest for him.
