Almost eight thousand parcels of pasta delivered in November, two thousand families helped: 53% residing in Cagliari , who also receive hot meals and gas cylinders. Impressive numbers on poverty in the city those recorded by the Domus De Luna Foundation at the Exmè center in Pirri: «Which does not receive any help from the Municipality and goes on only thanks to private donations», denounces the councilor of the Municipality Project for Cagliari, Marzia Cilloccu, who with colleagues from the minority presented a question to the mayor Paolo Truzzu.

«The service has been active since 2012, but has grown exponentially since 2020 due to the effects of the pandemic», explains the center-left exponent, «it is carried out in the former Pirri market owned by the Municipality, where Domus de Luna operates with a lease contract whose amount has been increased to 36,000 euros per year». A fee «to be paid with improvements to buildings, social services or in cash. Then the electricity and water bills and the Tari must be added ».

Two years ago, the hall of Palazzo Bacaredda approved a motion that recognized the central role of the aggregation center built in the former market "as a response to the social priorities of the Santa Teresa district, of all of Cagliari and of the hinterland". Meanwhile, the economic situation has worsened, as have the data that represent it.

Cilloccu asks whether it is the junta's intention to "insert the Exmè Center among the essential principals for the assistance and social stability of our territory, in order to budget for a sum that guarantees aid aimed at recognizing the great work done so far, in so that it can also be guaranteed in the future".
