A total of 572 crimes related to the "Red Code" in the province of Cagliari alone from January 1st to October 31st 2025. This is the data provided by the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command: 119 arrests, 435 people reported at large. These figures are an increase compared to 2024, when there were 529 crimes, 130 arrests and 390 reported .
In particular, stalking incidents have increased, going from 177 to 227 episodes , while mistreatment within the family and sexual crimes remain practically stable and continue to represent a significant part of the interventions.
These numbers are a snapshot of a phenomenon that shows no signs of abating.
The Carabinieri have released the "Violenzameter," a tool to detect signs that something isn't right. It gradually shifts from yellow to red, the alarm that should prompt victims to report the crime.
If he ignores you, deceives you, belittles you, humiliates you, or controls you, talk to family and friends about it and seek psychological support, your relationship with your partner could deteriorate.
If he blackmails you, isolates you, makes you feel guilty, persecutes you, mistreats you, you should call 1522, the public service number, and contact an anti-violence center .
Finally, the most alarming signs, in the presence of which you should call 112 or go to the barracks or police station to report it : the red alert goes off when you don't feel safe with him, he hits you, threatens to kill you (even with weapons), forces you to have sexual intercourse, when you think he might be capable of killing you .
