Firefighters have carried out approximately 45 interventions since this morning in the Cagliari metropolitan area due to the severe weather that has affected the southern part of the island in recent hours. Among the hardest-hit municipalities is Quartu, where numerous disruptions related to heavy rainfall have been concentrated.

Teams were especially focused on limiting damage to homes, using motor pumps to drain basements and flooded rooms. Heavy rainfall caused widespread flooding and critical situations in several neighborhoods.

A wall collapse was reported in Elmas: a team of firefighters intervened on the scene and secured the area.

During the day , several interventions were also recorded for dangerous trees and two cases of structural collapse.
