He demanded service, even though it was after 1:30 a.m. and the place was being cleaned at the time. But he wanted alcohol. More than he seemed to have in his system. When he was refused, he lost his temper : he smashed glasses, brandished cutlery, and knives. First inside, then outside, where he threw rocks at the windows and threatened one of the workers.
An Algerian man's late-night raid on Ginger on Viale Regina Margherita in Cagliari could have ended terribly. The club's young men tried to quell his alcoholic fury, but he continued. Shortly thereafter, a police car arrived outside the former factory and the officers arrested the young man and took him to the police station.
"Thanks to the professionalism of our employees and the rapid and valuable intervention of the police, alerted by the operations center once the anti-robbery button was pressed, there was no workplace massacre," says Ginger owner Nicola Schintu.
The Algerian "thought it was a good idea to sneak into the premises at the end of his shift (while the employees were tidying up), entering the kitchen and turning everything upside down, breaking glasses and throwing cutlery towards the entrance".
After the incident, the entrepreneur vented, "The kids are terrified. It's not my place to say, but something needs to change immediately because we no longer feel safe in our own home."
