After a ten-year closure, the student residence on Via Montesanto in Cagliari, between Is Mirrionis and San Michele, reopens . The ribbon-cutting ceremony was held this morning with Marco Meloni, President of the ERSU Board of Directors . "This is a historic achievement," the Regional Agency for the Right to Education explained in a statement, "which restores to the student population an indispensable space not only for student housing in the city but also for intergenerational social interaction. Student residences aren't just a place to sleep; they also include common areas, study rooms, laundry facilities, and services that allow students to fully experience their university years."
" There will be 74 beds available immediately for this academic year ," Meloni stated, "and another 106 will be made available by the end of the academic year. This total of 180 beds is in addition to the beds at the Emilio Lussu Campus on Viale la Playa and the open residences on Via Biasi, Via Businco, and Via Sassari . For Ersu, this will gradually reduce, along with the projects currently underway, the gap between student housing needs in the city and the beds provided directly by the institution."
