Cagliari, along with southern Sardinia, is poised to become the preferred gateway for the Polish market in Italy, strengthening an institutional and commercial bridge established five years ago and enhanced by international collaborations over the past two years. From May 3rd to 7th, the capital will host a high-profile educational tour organized by the Centro Commerciale Naturale Consorzio Cagliari Centro Storico, in collaboration with SET (Sardinia Experience Tourism), aimed at transforming the city into a strategic hub for Eastern Europe.

The Polish delegation, led by Małgorzata Wilk-Grzywna, Vice President of the Polish National Tourism Organization (POT), includes Iwona Majewska, Head of the Mazovia Convention Bureau, and a selection of tour operators and industry journalists. The initiative aims to simultaneously enhance the promotion of the city and surrounding region by deseasonalizing tourism offerings, and lays the groundwork for organizing a major promotional event for Poland in Cagliari by spring 2027, building on the success of the Villaggio Sardegna presented in Warsaw last November at the International Travel & Tourism Fair, one of the most important tourism fairs in Poland, held annually at the Palace of Culture and Science.

The organization aims to generate new tourist arrivals and establish stable business relationships. The Polish market is currently a rapidly expanding segment, characterized by a strong affinity for the Latin lifestyle and a growing interest in real estate investments in Sardinian villages, chosen as an ideal destination for their quality of light and climate. This cooperation, supported by regular flight connections to Poznan and Krakow, enhances the local identity through an immersive experience that seeks to transcend a simple institutional visit, but embraces the authentic soul of the city.

The program unfolds through Cagliari's historic neighborhoods and monumental heritage, offering participants an emotional journey through the collective spirituality of the return of Saint Efisio, polyphonic choirs, and the mastery of ancient crafts. From Sardinian filigree to fresh pasta workshops, from guided tastings at local markets to medieval crossbow-shooting excursions, every moment is designed to transform guests into future promoters of a destination capable of uniting the sea, urban nature, and sustainability. The journey also extends into the productive hinterland, visiting outstanding towns such as Dolianova and Villasor, where olive growing and indigenous viticulture become tools for narrating an ethical and welcoming territory.

An experiential gastronomic journey through the Marina's restaurants will allow the Polish delegation to discover Sardinia's identity through traditional dishes and native wines, representative of the island's historical memory. Meetings with representatives from the Sardinia Region, the Municipality of Cagliari, and the Municipality of Dolianova will confirm the strategic nature of the project, aimed at establishing a structural partnership for organizing the first international exchange to promote Polish tourism and culture on the island. The ultimate goal remains to strengthen Cagliari's international reputation as an ideal year-round destination, increasing average stays and creating new opportunities for the entire local economic ecosystem through hospitality based on shared values and conviviality.
