They had over 11 kilos of drugs in their home, destined for the nightlife of Cagliari's Marina district. For this reason, two young people, a couple aged 27 and 23 , were arrested by the police on suspicion of possession with intent to sell narcotics . The operation was conducted by personnel from the "Falchi" Group of the Cagliari Police Headquarters' Flying Squad, during a surveillance operation between Piazza del Carmine and Via Malta.

Investigators noticed the two men acting suspiciously , quickly intervening to stop them as they attempted to get rid of some keys, which were later traced to another residence owned by a third party, unrelated to the incident. Subsequent searches uncovered a veritable drug stash : inside the residence owned by the suspects, approximately 8.6 kilograms of hashish and approximately 2.4 kilograms of marijuana were found and seized, along with weighing and packaging materials and €645 in cash, believed to be the proceeds of the illegal activity.

Given the quantity and packaging method, the substance was likely intended to supply drug dealing centers in the Marina neighborhood, a particularly busy area, especially in the evening and nighttime. After the formalities were completed, the two arrested men were transferred to Uta prison.
