He fell five meters due to the collapse of a grate near the Terrapieno, landing heavily in the parking lot below. Late yesterday evening, a young man in his twenties—according to the limited information leaked overnight—was rushed to the Brotzu Hospital emergency room due to injuries sustained in an accident on Viale Regina Elena.

The incident occurred around 10:00 PM yesterday, when a young man who was with friends near a parking lot fell to his death when a grate in the floor suddenly collapsed. The cause of the accident is still unclear, but it appears the metal plate—also apparently used for pedestrian access—suddenly collapsed, causing the young man to fall from a considerable height. Initial investigations estimate the fall was approximately 5 meters. The 20-year-old, who fortunately remained alert until the ambulance arrived, was promptly rescued by a 118 emergency team with a doctor on board, called by some of the victim's friends. Once the injured man was stabilized, the paramedics notified the Operations Center that he needed to be transported with a red code: the mobile resuscitation unit immediately headed to Brotzu Hospital, where the young man was taken care of by emergency doctors. His condition is serious, although the 20-year-old was still undergoing checks overnight. Investigations will be launched to understand the dynamics of the accident.
