A 23-year-old woman was seriously injured after a car struck her at a pedestrian crossing on Via Campania in Cagliari. The young woman, from San Gavino, was taken to the emergency room of Brotzu Hospital with a yellow code. Fortunately, her life is not in danger.
The accident occurred around 3:00 PM in the lanes leading to the Pacinotti High School. For reasons still unclear, the driver of a car failed to notice the girl crossing the street and struck her. The driver immediately stopped to provide assistance to the injured young woman while waiting for the 118 ambulance to arrive.
Meanwhile, there was chaos around Via Campania: the stationary car and the emergency vehicles that inevitably occupied the roadway blocked traffic and long queues formed.
Once officers from the Local Police Accident Unit completed their investigations, traffic returned to normal.
