Carabinieri officers from the Cagliari Villanova station arrested a 72-year-old man, already known to law enforcement, for mistreatment of his partner.
According to the military's reconstruction, the man allegedly subjected his partner to harassment, insults, threats, and beatings over time. At the height of the latest assault, the woman alerted the military.
When the patrol arrived, the 72-year-old had already left the house, probably in an attempt to avoid detection.

The military, after activating the victim protection procedures provided for by the red code and the regional anti-violence network, began searching for the man, locating him shortly thereafter in the vicinity and arresting him.
The man was then taken to the police station and, after a full investigation of the incident, was placed under house arrest pending the validation hearing already arranged by the Judicial Authority.
