A 5-year-old boy, in imminent danger of death and in need of emergency transfer from the Brotzu Hospital in Cagliari to the Bambino Gesù Children's Hospital in Rome, was transported yesterday evening aboard a G-650 aircraft from the 31st Wing of the Italian Air Force.

The little patient - the Italian Air Force announced - traveled inside the aircraft constantly monitored and cared for by a medical team and in the company of his father.

At the request of the Prefecture of Cagliari, the flight was activated by the Air Force's Headquarters Situation Room, which reports to the Air Squadron Command in Milan. The 31st Wing, one of the units that performs operational readiness for this type of mission and is based at Rome Ciampino, immediately contacted the 31st Wing, which then carried out the life-saving flight with a G-650.
