A 40-year-old Cagliari man with a criminal record has been jailed for the attack, which took place on December 6th, using a cleaver near a private (and illegal) club in San Michele. The victim suffered serious injuries , and underwent delicate surgery at Brotzu: a fractured left arm, damaged tendons, and fractures to the nasal septum and jaw.
To get to the scene of the attack, the 40-year-old also violated the house arrest he had previously been placed under for various crimes, including drug dealing in another club in Mulinu Becciu and aggravated robbery.
The video surveillance footage and the testimonies collected framed the man.
The individual's "social dangerousness" and "repeated violent behavior" prompted the Judicial Authority to order a more severe precautionary measure in recent days, with the suspect taken to prison in Uta.
Furthermore, yesterday, the Police Commissioner ordered and notified the manager of the closure of the San Michele premises due to the lack of the necessary permits.
