Cagliari, 29-year-old arrested after robbery at a downtown location

A robbery took place at a restaurant in the center of Cagliari, where a 29-year-old Algerian man, homeless and already known to law enforcement, was arrested by the Carabinieri on suspicion of aggravated theft.
The incident occurred yesterday evening on Via Napoli, prompting immediate intervention by the Cagliari NORM Mobile Radio Unit. After a brief search, the man was located in Piazza Matteotti. Once he was apprehended and secured, a search was initiated.
In the purse he was carrying, along with some banknotes and burglary tools, the officers found the restaurant owner's documents. Taken to the barracks and after completing the formalities, the 29-year-old was held pending the summary hearing ordered by the judicial authorities.
