A serious accident occurred late yesterday evening on Via Is Mirrionis , on the downhill stretch of road in front of the CUS Cagliari sports facilities. Around 11:00 PM, just before the turnoff to the sports center, a 22-year-old woman was struck by a van while crossing the street. The impact was so severe that she was thrown about ten meters from the impact site.

The driver of the van stopped to provide first aid to the girl and to call 118.

The twenty-two-year-old suffered a head injury and spinal trauma, as well as a compound and open fracture of her leg. An ambulance arrived immediately, transporting her to Brotzu Hospital in Cagliari with a red code . When first responders arrived, the girl was conscious—though in shock—and managed to communicate, albeit with difficulty, with doctors and nurses.

The girl's condition is serious, but her life is not in danger . In addition to specialist emergency personnel, the local police mobile unit and two other patrols also responded to the scene to conduct initial investigations and understand the exact circumstances of the accident, with the assistance of witnesses who witnessed the incident.

Still on the downhill stretch of Via Is Mirrionis, around 11 p.m., almost at the crossing to enter the CUS (Central Subway Station), another accident involving a rear-end collision occurred. In this case, there were no particular problems for those inside the heavily damaged vehicles.
