After a judicial tug-of-war, a teenager from Cagliari, supported by his father, managed to win his battle to receive the anti-Covid vaccination, despite his mother's opposition.
The sentence was issued at the end of December by the Cagliari court. "After hearing the minor, who declared that he wanted to undergo vaccination to resume a normal social life and deeming this choice useful to avoid the spread of the virus - the judges wrote in the sentence - and considering that at the government level there is an indication to proceed with the immunization of the widest possible number of children between 12 and 18 years and furthermore that the Italian society of paediatrics recommends vaccination for all children and adolescents ", the vaccination of the minor is" authorized ", despite the opposition of the mother.
In the decree, the court also stressed that “the benefits of vaccination must be considered
higher than the risks in all age groups, including the youngest ones who are also those in which the circulation of the virus is higher due to greater socialization ".
And so, after receiving a favorable opinion, the boy, assisted by his father's lawyer Costantino Fossataro, has already been able to present himself at the hub for administration.
