Carabinieri from the NAS (National Anti-Corruption and Health Unit) of Cagliari conducted a health and safety inspection at a supermarket in the metropolitan city.
Following the inspection, the military discovered that food items for sale were being stored at unsuitable temperatures inside five refrigerated counters located in the fishmonger's and delicatessen departments .

The measurements carried out highlighted how the goods were kept at temperatures that in some cases were more than ten degrees higher than those required for the specific type of food, leading to a likely interruption of the cold chain and the consequent non-application of HACCP self-monitoring procedures.

The operation resulted in the seizure of approximately 130 kilos of food products, including delicatessen products, fish products, and dairy products, with an estimated street value of approximately €5,000. The merchandise was handed over to the store manager for safekeeping.
Administrative fines totaling €2,000 were imposed on the legal representative of the company managing the business. At the same time, the competent Health Authority was notified for a substantive assessment.
