Cabras, Mirko Troncia's victory: from bully victim to influencer
To tell his story, the 27-year-old posted the song "Amyrko nell'umido" on TikTok: "That's how they made me feel for years, like a piece of junk to be thrown away."Today he's at peace. He gets emotional when people recognize him on the street and call out to him. But before all this, there was darkness, tears, and suffering. Bullied for being overweight, with platinum blonde hair, and for his unconventional way of dressing.
All this until he was sixteen, then came the turning point. Mirko Troncia, 27, from Cabras, to revitalize himself and fight back against bullying, decided to fight back through social media and become an influencer. He has over 34,000 followers on Instagram and 9,000 on TikTok, where a few days ago he released a song that tells his story: "I've always been judged and never accepted for who I was. I've always felt isolated and different. I realized I had to fight back. So I decided to completely change. I wanted to be able to get people talking about me again, but in a different way. I didn't want to be in the corner anymore; I wanted to be someone."
Suddenly, she stopped crying, lost a lot of weight, and her appearance changed. Then she started using social media: "I started to see myself differently than I used to," she says. "I decided to respond to all the bullies. Until, between a comic gag and a funny sketch, I invented what has now become a real catchphrase: 'Nell'umido', a way of referring to all those who denigrate those who are different."
Mirko Troncia, who has always loved singing, decided to write the song "Amyrko nell'umido" and post it on TikTok. "The word umidito has a very specific meaning: that's how many people made me feel for years, like a piece of junk to be thrown away," says Mirko Troncia. "But now I'm smiling again." He makes an appeal on social media: "Anyone who feels mocked and ridiculed must react."
