A 42-year-old Egyptian worker was arrested by the Carabinieri for sexual assault and assault .
On Friday afternoon , the man attempted to kiss a 75-year-old woman from Cabras, also biting her lip .
The woman was walking out of town when she was violently attacked by the stranger, who grabbed her wrists and violently kissed her . The woman tried to defend herself, managed to free herself from his grip, and called for help. At that point, the man ran away toward the rice fields, while several passersby rushed to the pensioner, who was rescued shortly thereafter by emergency personnel .
Within minutes, Carabinieri patrols from the Oristano Carabinieri Radiomobile unit arrived on the provincial road connecting Cabras to Torregrande. They immediately located the man hiding in the rice paddies and arrested him . The crimes charged by prosecutor Silvia Mascia are sexual assault and assault ; the man, represented by Monica Masia, will appear before a judge on Monday for a validation hearing.
