Over 200 grams of cocaine hidden in the nightstand. A 57-year-old man from Cabras was arrested by police for possession and trafficking of narcotics.
For days, officers from the anti-drug unit of the Flying Squad, coordinated by Deputy Police Commissioner Samuele Cabizzosu, had been monitoring the unemployed man's suspicious movements. On Tuesday, they closely monitored his various movements, including the one to purchase the drugs. Once he returned home, the raid began. During the search, the officers found the cocaine hidden in his bedside table: it was divided into three packages.
The former fisherman appeared in court today for the validation hearing. Prosecutor Marcello Floris (present in court in place of the public prosecutor on duty, Valerio Bagattini) requested that the 57-year-old be placed in prison due to the risk of reoffending. The defense, led by attorney Fabio Costa, requested house arrest instead, a request that was granted by Judge Chiara Lai at the end of the hearing.
