The first to notice it were the catechists. When they reached the chapel where the Sardinian baskets were placed with everything that was to be donated shortly after during the offertory, they saw that the envelope containing the money was missing .

Yesterday morning in Cabras, during the celebration of the mass for the first communions , in the parish church of Santa Maria Assunta, someone stole the envelope containing the offerings collected from the families of the children to be donated to the parish priest Giuseppe Sanna .

Inside there were 300 euros, ten euros per child . An unpleasant fact that left everyone present speechless. Someone evidently, while everyone was busy following the mass, reached the chapel of San Giuseppe, at the entrance of the church on the right, to take away the loot.

" We are speechless ," said a catechist. "When we picked up the basket that had been placed in the upper part of the chapel, so not in sight, we realized that the envelope was missing. It was the one that was supposed to be delivered by us catechists, to close the offertory. But this did not happen."

At the end of the mass, in the churchyard, everyone was talking about the story. And who knows if those who took home the money collected by the children will decide to return it.
