His body was found after several hours of searching, a stone's throw from the Is Benas pond in the Cabras area, where he had gone fishing that morning. Luigi Camedda, 65, a resident of Narbolia , died this afternoon, most likely due to illness.
Family members raised the alarm after the pensioner, who had left home that morning, failed to return home and was not answering cell phone calls. After an extensive search near the Cabras fish pond and along the lake, law enforcement found his body.
"This tragedy adds to the one that occurred Friday in the sea at Is Arenas, where a lawyer died, also due to illness," Mayor Gian Giuseppe Vargiu emphasized. "We are close to the families in their grief."
