Burcei: Unemployed man charged with marijuana possession, placed under house arrest

A 31-year-old unemployed man was arrested by Carabinieri officers from the Quartu Mobile Radio Unit for possession of drugs with intent to sell. The young man was stopped for a check on a street in the town of Burcei: upon being searched, he was found in possession of two grams of marijuana. During a subsequent house search, the same Carabinieri recovered approximately seven grams of marijuana, €1,700 in cash, a precision scale, and a cutter.
The suspect was placed under house arrest and will be tried in Cagliari Court today.
The arrest was made as part of a preventative operation that also involved several other centers of the Quartu Carabinieri Company, which included checks on several individuals and searches. No further information has emerged on the matter.
