Burcei celebrates Saint Barbara with a rich program of religious, cultural, and folkloristic events that will enliven the cherry town for 14 days, until June 21st.

The Parish of Our Lady of Montserrat is also preparing to solemnly celebrate the religious festivities for an extraordinary anniversary: the 100th anniversary of the Committee, which is being celebrated this year. The festival program includes moments of profound spirituality, as well as evenings of music, culture, and popular entertainment. The dodgeball tournament is currently taking place at the municipal tennis court. From June 10th to 12th at 5:30 pm, a religious event will take place, including a Triduum of Prayer with the Holy Rosary and Mass in the parish church. On Thursday, June 11th at 10:00 pm, the civic festivities will begin, with a Campidano poetry competition featuring improvisers Roberto Zuncheddu, Luigi Zuncheddu, Simone Monni, and Eliseo Vargiu; Basciu and contra, Rossano Cardia, and Filippo Urru. Mario Aledda will be playing the guitar. The event will take place in Piazza Is Griffonis.

On Friday, June 12th, at 8:00 PM, CSBeerFest, a beer festival with music, a "mechanical bull," and other games at the kiosk. On Saturday, June 13th, at 5:00 PM, the eagerly awaited ceremony of the investiture of Saint Barbara, with the singing of the Holy Rosary, will take place. This will be followed by a procession to the country church with Burcei musicians, the Sardinian Popular Orchestra, and folk groups from Burcei, Cagliari, Maracalagonis, Ittireddu, and representatives from Bono, Oliena, Oristano, Tertenia, Iglesias, Settimo, and the knights. A solemn Mass will follow at the country church.

At 8:30 pm, dinner offered by the Committee, in collaboration with “Is Pastoris de Brucei” and Isa Lobina, in Piazza Marcia.

At 9:30 pm, "Pratza in festa," an evening of Sardinian music and traditions, hosted by various folk groups, and a musical performance by "Balla Sardigna," will take place in Piazza Marcia.

Sunday, June 14th, at 8:00 a.m., Holy Mass will be held in the parish of Our Lady of Montserrat. At 10:00 a.m., a rural procession will take place with Burcei musicians Mario Aledda, Emilio Aledda, Simone Pisu, Cesare Piu, Christian Zuncheddu, Matteo Zuncheddu, and Benedetto Lecca. This will be followed by the celebration of the Solemn Holy Mass and the blessing of the rosaries. At 4:00 p.m., games and fun: soap football and inflatable volleyball for adults; GVT entertainment for children in Piazza Marcia. At 9:30 p.m., a fireworks display by "Piano Event" in Gaianu. This will be followed by the show "Tieni il Tempo," a tribute to 883 in concert. On July 15th, a Holy Mass for the sick will be held in the small country church of Santa Barbara. This will be followed by a procession around the church with a rosary, featuring musicians Cesare Piu, Simone Pisu, and Antonio Zuncheddu. Wednesday, June 17, at 9:30 pm, a great musical show with “I Nomadi” in concert, in Piazza Marcia.

The festival will continue on June 19th: at 4 pm, children's entertainment with the CAS Burcei association at the country church. This will be followed by a walk to the Belvedere. At 10 pm, a Logudorese poetry competition with Giuseppe Porcu and Bruno Agus, accompanied by the Tenore di Orgosolo, will take place in Piazza Is Griffonis. On June 20th, at 6 pm, Holy Mass will be celebrated in the country church. This will be followed by a procession of the Saint back to the parish church, with Burcei musicians Mario Aledda, Emilio Aledda, Simone Pisu, Cesare Piu, and Benedetto Lecca, along with folk groups from Burcei and Maracalagonis. At 9:30 pm, a dance performance by Franci and Nico's "Club Latin Dance" school, presented by Michele Piras.

Sunday, June 21st, at 8:00 a.m., Holy Mass in the parish church. At 9:30 a.m., the octave procession to the home of the Committee president, Quarto Davide, on Via Cagliari. Holy Mass will follow in the parish church. At 4:30 p.m., the lottery will be drawn in Piazza Marcia. 9:30 pm, the festival's grand finale with "Mondosuper," a tribute to Ligabue in concert.

On Saturday, June 13th, the scheduled events will be broadcast live on Videolina. They will begin at 5:00 PM with the investiture ceremony of Saint Barbara, the procession, and Holy Mass (hosted, commentated, and interviewed by Massimiliano Rais and Alberto Masu). At 9:45 PM, the musical performance (Traditional Music) presented by Giuliano Marongiu will be broadcast.
