A truly too long story, that of silent cell phones along the Burcei Campuomu provincial road and in the villages on the old eastern Sardinian road , San Gregorio, the village of Roses and Mimosas and all the urban settlements on the old eastern Sardinian road.

The inconvenience and economic damage are reported daily by those resisting, also because the lack of voice and data connections obviously also creates security problems. For years, this situation has been reported by citizens and successive municipal administrations in Burcei without concrete results.

A blackout is paralyzing residents and businesses along the former SS125.

Among those making the appeal is Marco Piu, owner of the Su Passu bar and restaurant : "It's no longer an occasional outage, it's a structural problem. The signal here has never guaranteed stable coverage, and it's been completely gone for two days. We're not working, we're not collecting, we can't even call for help."

Piu asks the mayors and all institutions to work together: immediate, stopgap intervention to restore the signal and, for a definitive solution, a joint technical committee between municipalities, telephone companies, the Prefecture, and the Region. "Without a telephone, you can't work; without a telephone, there is no safety. We cannot be a forgotten village."

The municipal administrations of Burcei and Sinnai have been working for some time to resolve the problem. The Municipality of Burcei is aiming to build a repeater system to broadcast the signal. Mayor Marcello Malloru attended the site inspection to identify the potential site for the project, which would be implemented by a private company. The problem has been reported to the Prefecture.
The situation currently appears challenging, with the repeater's construction project likely to take a long time. Thus, the isolation of businesses, children, young people, the elderly, and nuns continues.
Antonio Monni of Burcei says: "To call from San Gregorio you have to go all the way to Cruxi Lillius, and the telephone operators don't respond to reports."
