A cannabis sativa plantation , consisting of over 100 plants : this is what the Carabinieri discovered in the countryside of Bultei . The crop, spread over three rows, already had numerous inflorescences.

The local station's military personnel, supported by a team of Sardinian hunters from Abbasanta and helicopter pilots from the 10th NEC from Olbia, are engaged in a control and monitoring service in a rural area particularly suited to this type of crop.

After several days of observation, yesterday afternoon the military surprised a 50-year-old local farmer while he was tending to the crop on his family's land, watering it using a homemade irrigation system.

The plants, subjected to an initial examination, tested positive for THC and were seized.

This morning, by order of the judicial authorities, further qualitative tests will be carried out on some samples of the substance by the RIS in Cagliari.

The 50-year-old , who has a criminal record, was arrested and placed under house arrest, pending a preliminary hearing before the investigating judge of the Nuoro Court.
