The Local Police of Nuoro introduces drones for urban security and territorial control . The operation of drones, provided as State aircraft, is an important innovation approved by decree of the Department for Transport and Navigation n.75 of 4 November 2024.

Thanks to this qualification, the Nuoro Command drones will be able to be officially employed in institutional activities, to protect urban safety and the well-being of the community.

Drones will be used in various operations, among which the prevention and fight against environmental crimes stand out, such as surveillance to prevent and repress infringements that could damage the territory and natural heritage. In the detection of road accidents as support in the operations of survey and reconstruction of accidents, for a more efficient management of traffic and a rapid resolution of critical issues. Traffic monitoring with real-time control of traffic in sensitive areas of the city . But they can also be used in civil protection and rescue activities : in emergency situations, for the coordination of rescue operations or in Security during public events.
