Tragedy this late afternoon in Budoni, where an 86-year-old French tourist died following a heart attack while she was in the swimming pool of the Hotel Sporting between Agrustos and Porto Ottiolu.
The woman received immediate help from the lifeguard of the accommodation facility and then from the 118 ambulance which quickly arrived on site, together with the helicopter rescue which took off from the nearby base in Olbia.
But despite the resuscitation maneuvers, which continued for several minutes, there was nothing that could be done for the elderly tourist. The Carabinieri of the local station were also on site to carry out the necessary checks and support the forces in the field.
Great dismay among guests and staff of the well-known hotel, one of the most popular destinations for national and foreign tourists who have been crowding the Gallura center for days.
