The Chamber's work on the 2026 budget is still proceeding at a snail's pace . The majority would like to reach final approval as early as late today, but the reality is that only three of the seventeen articles have been approved so far. The fourth, concerning education, will be voted on at the beginning of the afternoon session.

And the center-right, even though the text no longer presents any major issues for discussion, does not seem willing to accelerate the process enough to close the matter this evening.

For this to happen, the opposition would have to withdraw all amendments and abandon the lengthy general debate on each article. This is what emerged from a minority meeting held shortly before the lunch break. On the other hand, the majority is apparently not offering the opposition a good reason to act differently.

The amendment to establish a fund to address the damage caused by severe weather, as requested by the center-right, could make a difference. However, at this stage, it's still unclear whether the Budget will be approved by the Chamber today or tomorrow.
