Only positive confirmations are coming from the analyses on the farms: involved (for now) Sarule, Orani, Orotelli and BottiddaPer restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
Lumpy skin disease in cattle, the count rises. There are nine confirmed outbreaks in Sardinia, according to the latest update of the national veterinary epidemiological bulletin. To the six cases already known , with the confirmation of the analyses arrived yesterday, July 1st, two more are added in Orotelli (a town already affected) and one more in Sarule.
The other towns that have been affected so far are Orani – where the first contagion was recorded – and Bottidda. The experts knew it: cattle plague has been on the island for about three months. Looking for it now means finding it. And if the latest reports do not lead to an expansion of the restrictive measures, there is reason to fear that new centers will soon be affected. And the areas where movement will be prohibited will expand, with enormous damage for companies.
The Region is waiting for indications from Rome: yesterday in the Prefecture in Nuoro the regional health councilor, Armando Bartolazzi, announced that he had asked to be able to proceed with the selective culling of sick animals and, at the same time, to proceed with a mass vaccination campaign .
Meanwhile, the animals involved have risen to 1207 and those infected are 57.
