A swarm of yellow and green, representing the hope that the demands brought to the streets this morning in Olbia will be heard: Coldiretti Sardegna farmers took to the streets, on foot and on tractors, to put an end to the conditions they've been living in for the past fifteen months due to the restrictions imposed by the European Union to contain the consequences of bovine dermatitis, which (now) has only two outbreaks on the island.
In Olbia, to maintain high levels of vigilance at the main port from which all animal shipments depart, livestock workers from all over the island have arrived.
"We are asking the European Union to downgrade the disease because we have found that it is not virulent and to reduce the distance limit from the surveillance zone," said the regional director of Coldiretti, Luca Saba.
