The "Non ti Temo" committee takes the field once again to contest, with the support of the national professional association "Generazione Mare" the projects that aim to carry out interventions that would have the objective of the hydraulic defense of the city of Bosa . The imminent realization of a public work on the Temo river, is in fact defined by the committee as « concreting with a significant environmental impact, passed off as a hydraulic defense work, in the marine-coastal area of Bosa, which is located on the only navigable river in Sardinia ».

And then, a popular mobilization begins which will culminate with a public assembly scheduled for Thursday 8 August at 7pm at the Carmine cloister . Added to this is a request to the Region for an urgent discussion in order to identify project solutions that do not impact the territory and provide certainty on the results. Marcello Adriano Mazzola and Daniela Addis, presidents of the "Non ti Temo" committee and of the "Generazione Mare " association, in a communication sent to the president Alessandra Todde and to the councilor for public works Antonio Piu and for the environment Rosanna Laconi , ask in the meantime to " suspend immediately any executive act relating to the implementation of the planned works, carry out the environmental impact assessment of the work as a whole, including alternative active defense options. And again, an adequate public consultation, but above all urgently foresee the dredging of the Temo river, an action that has not been carried out for more than 20 years with the result that, if carried out, it would significantly reduce the risk of flooding in itself, restoring the natural profile of the riverbed and therefore navigability and revitalization of the ecosystem".

The project. In 2019 the Region started the intervention as part of the Excerpt Plan of the "National Plan for the mitigation of hydrogeological risk, the restoration and protection of the environmental resource", then included in the Pnrr, definitively approved, in 2022/2023. It concerns interventions on the two banks of the Temo river, for a total amount of approximately 23 million euros, partly with the related financial coverage. The construction of a continuous system of walls up to 3.80 meters high in some sections and embankments is envisaged, which would stiffen the watercourse .

«A project that appears completely anachronistic and useless - the committee states - since, in the face of no benefits, it would entail, in the construction phases and once completed, serious and to date not assessed impacts on tourism, agricultural activities and fishing , on the port vocation of the river and therefore on the economy of the city, as well as on the environment and the unique landscape of the lower Temo valley" .
