The city continues to experience severe water shortages due to the drought, which has reduced the levels of the reservoirs. To allow for interconnection work between the Alto Temo and Bidighinzu reservoirs, water supply was suspended yesterday in the aqueducts serving the Alto Temo. Water will continue to flow only until the reserves in the Castello, Pianu 'e Murtas, and Bosa Centro reservoirs are exhausted.

Adding to the difficulty is the undrinkable nature of the water, given the order issued by Mayor Alfonso Marras prohibiting its use for drinking purposes, following the safety parameters exceeded, as communicated by Sian and Abbanoa. The water remains usable only for personal hygiene and domestic purposes. Abbanoa will activate a drinking water distribution service via tankers in the coming hours, with priority for the elderly and care facilities.

"This is a delicate moment," explains Deputy Mayor Federico Ledda. "The drought is putting a severe strain on the water system. We ask residents to limit consumption and use water only for what is truly necessary. Only through collective responsibility will we be able to reduce the disruption."
