An orange alert had also been issued for today. And right on time, in the early afternoon of a very hot Sunday, flames erupted on the outskirts of Cabras and also in Bosa, where the evacuation of several homes is currently required.
The alarm was raised shortly after 3pm when the fire began to spread to the outskirts of Cabras, near the cemetery.
Forestry Corps and firefighters immediately responded to the scene, supported by a helicopter from the Fenosu base. Firefighting operations continued for several hours, followed by cleanup operations. Meanwhile, other fires were reported in Planargia.
Forestry, firefighters, and volunteers responded to the Bosa countryside in the Coronedu area. Two helicopters from the Bosa bases, Anela and the Superpuma from Oristano, and two Canadair aircraft from Olbia were also in the air. Some homes were evacuated. The situation is constantly evolving.
