During some reclamation and detonation operations of two suspected unexploded ordnance, the Comsubin divers found "further objects dangerous to public safety" in the sea in front of Scoglio di Quirra, in the municipality of Villaputzu.

For this reason, Lieutenant Mattia Caniglia, head of the Maritime District of Arbatax, has issued an ordinance to prohibit access to the coast and navigation in the area until further notice («with immediate effect and until the end of the requirement»).

The stretch in question is identified by the coordinates 39° 31.515' N (latitude) and 009° 39.735' E (longitude) where maritime traffic and "any other activity involving the use of the sea" will be prohibited.
