Major maneuvers in the Gulf of Cagliari, from the beach of Terra Mala to Sant'Andrea, in view of the laying of the Tyrrhenian Link, the cable that will connect Sardinia with Sicily to guarantee stability to the immense mass of plants for the production of renewable energy that could be installed on the island.
There are two interdiction orders issued in recent days by the Cagliari Coast Guard. The first concerns an activity of geophysical investigations and marine monitoring, the second provides limitations related to underwater works of systematic war clearance.
With a provision already in force it is announced that «in the period from January 1st to June 30th 2025, the sea areas» that go from Terra Mala almost to the border with Poetto di Quartu «will be affected by marine geophysical survey activities, inspections using ROVs, transplanting of oceanic posidonia and related marine monitoring activities with the placement of probes on the seabed for current measurements and collection of sediments for subsequent sampling». Everyone is therefore ordered to stay at a minimum distance of 300 meters from the vessels involved in the intervention.
In the meantime, from January 13th to February 28th, the teams of Sub Service Srl of Mogoro will be engaged in systematic underwater war clearance: those who go to sea will have to keep a distance of at least 30 meters from the signal buoys.
