A boat in difficulty, with a Sardinian couple on board, was rescued during the night off the coast of Is Arenas.

It was 9.30pm last night when the Coast Guard operations room received a request for help from the occupants of a semi-cabin of approximately 10 meters who reported an engine failure which occurred while they were sailing between Bosa marina and Torregrande. The two, originally from Sulcis, reported that they were about 3 miles from the beach of Is Arenas (Narbolia).

The Port Authority of Oristano sent a patrol boat to the area which intercepted the boat and verified that the couple of thirty-year-olds were in good health. The vessel was towed by a suitable vehicle from a local company in the Oristano area and escorted to the tourist port of Torregrande where it was moored in complete safety.
