Birth point closed for a year and pediatrics that, after 8 pm, no longer guarantees assistance to children. This is the situation of the hospital of Alghero, denounced by the spontaneous committees of citizens born precisely for the hospital facilities and assistance services.
" About a year has passed since the management of ASL 1 communicated that the closure of the birth point would be temporary until April 2024 , but these promises have been totally ignored", report the representatives of the New Hospital Committee, the Spontaneous Committee for the Defense of Health, the Blue Bows, Pink Bows Committee and the Committee United Against the Closure of the Marino Hospital.
" The other serious disservice concerns the lack of hospital pediatric care after 8 pm, which has created and continues to represent serious inconveniences . After 8 pm, the hospital in Alghero does not guarantee pediatric care and this forces parents and children to make continuous trips to Sassari. All this is no longer tolerable."
The committees ask "once again for the reopening of the Alghero maternity ward and the reactivation of the hospital pediatrics service within 24 hours . We invite the mayor and all the city's political forces to unite to ask the ASL with determination to reactivate these essential services".
