Mexico is the protagonist of the evening of poetry, music and cuisine organized by the Cultural Association Mediterrarte at the Suentu Lab space. The star of the meeting and cultural exchange is Benjamín Anaya, who celebrates 40 years of artistic life, bringing together his passions: songs with poetic intentions, rebellious scenic poetry and traditional Mexican cuisine. Born in Mexico City in 1963, Benjamín Anaya is currently on tour in Europe. Between songs, chatter and poetry Anaya usually cooks for the public, presenting traditional indigenous dishes from the central Mexican plateau. Through food, song and poetic verses, faithful to his Zapatista principles and community perspective, the author gives life to a happy push of collective resistance. As a composer, singer and guitarist he was part of Mexican rock groups such as Merak, Fieles Difuntos and Restos Humanos, he founded the trio Benjamín Anaya los Extraños Unidos (in Xicago) and for over 25 years he was an editor of Latin American poetry and editorial coordinator of various artistic and literary publications as well as a professor at the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura de México and the Faculty of Music of the UNAM. Several albums have been published and anthologies where his works are present for which he has won important awards. He will be accompanied on stage by three Sardinian artists: the musician Claudia Crabuzza, the painter Ana Maria Serna, whose works will be exhibited, and the writer Roxana Rossi. The evening, tomorrow, June 28, will begin at 8:00 pm.
