Not only towels, umbrellas and deckchairs, but also beach tents to illegally occupy large stretches of free beach .

It happens on the beach at Il Gabbiano , in Stintino, where everything needed for a relaxing day at the beach, in an ideal location, is set up as placeholders and remains there for days, effectively denying others the free use of the beach. Even though the sea belongs to everyone, for many, the rule is that the best spot is best occupied first.

And so, at dawn, on the public beach at Gabbiano, we see one of the most emblematic cases. Umbrellas, deckchairs, towels, and sun loungers appear, even though the owner isn't home. He's already left everything ready: for almost a month , he's arrived comfortably around 11:30 a.m. and then left in the afternoon, leaving a sort of "placeholder" waiting to return the next day with family and friends. Some even cover the deckchairs with a towel to avoid the excessive heat. It's not just a matter of incivility.

When equipment is left on the shoreline or in areas that should remain free, the problem also becomes one of compliance with the rules of public maritime property. In the case of Gabbiano, the beach louts and umbrella-buyers multiply: you can count about ten of them . This illegal occupation is reported by those who arrive in the morning and find themselves faced with the usual situation of illegality, with spaces taken without authorization.
