Two days of research have just been completed by Alessandro Zaniboni, the 55-year-old technician from Friuli who has been missing in the Supramonte di Baunei since 26 July 2021.

Operations restarted from Baccu Sassis , an area where his phone was found in November 2021 by a hunter from Baunei. The two days of further patrolling were organized and coordinated by the Alpine and Speleological Rescue, together with the Alpine Rescue of the Financial Police and were carried out in agreement with the State Police and Carabinieri of the Baunei station.

The area involved in the searches, called Baccu Sassis, is the one surrounding the point where his telephone was found and already searched in the days following his disappearance . The eventual confirmation of its passage has given rise to new hypotheses and the initiative to further investigate the off-trail areas.

Ninety technicians involved, belonging to Alpine and Speleological Rescue Sardinia, Alpine Rescue of the Financial Police and barracelli di Baunei who have scoured 100 hectares of the identified territory. In particular, even the most inaccessible areas were inspected, some of which required the use of climbing techniques and equipment, such as ledges and overhangs.

In these two days, the operations were carried out both with the teams on the ground and with the aid of drones and were assisted by the Mobile Coordination Center, which defined and coordinated the operations, which ended without success.
