She was walking along the path to Cala Goloritzè when she tripped and broke her ankle . The victim of the accident , which occurred late this morning, is a 33-year-old tourist of German origin who had chosen Ogliastra for a short holiday.

The (exposed) injury did not allow the woman to continue her journey and her fellow adventurers called for help. The call for help was handled by the 118 operations center in Sassari which, in light of the tourist's conditions and due to the imperviousness of the area where the accident occurred, sent the Echo Lima 1, the Areus helicopter that took off from the Olbia base , to the scene.

At the height of the path, the rescuer and doctor were lowered from the aircraft, with the helicopter that while waiting for the recovery to be completed stopped in the dirt road in front of the church of San Pietro, on the Golgo plateau. The woman was transferred to the hospital in Olbia .
