This is what lawyer Luca Cianferoni said about some "pizzini" (notes) attributed to his client, mafia boss Leoluca Bagarella , who, according to Fanpage.it, has been released from the 41bis regime in Sassari prison. The criminal lawyer confirms, however, that "as far as I know, Bagarella is in very bad shape."

The "pizzini" attributed to Leoluca Bagarella, a historic Cosa Nostra boss imprisoned since 1995 and sentenced to thirteen life sentences, were reportedly delivered to the editorial staff by a former inmate of the same prison, who said he received them from his cellmate in charge of delivering food every day to the boss, Totò Riina's brother-in-law and heir.

The "pizzini" are mostly greetings, but also appeals to the Ministry of Health and references to luxury cars. They read: "To the Minister of Health, " "Greetings to Maseratis," "To the reds and to all the little ones." They are all signed Luca.

The notes are confusing, according to Fanpage.it, which has reviewed them, especially since Leoluca Bagarella is 84 years old and unwell. The notes are said to have been issued from the maximum security unit of Sassari prison via "an inmate assigned to the food delivery service under the 41bis regime," the person responsible for delivering food and carrying out activities within the detention section of the so-called "hard prison," where cells are separated and contact with the outside world is kept to a minimum.
